The School of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering at NTUA has adopted a particularly demanding curriculum, as the Diploma it awards encompasses both the specialties of Naval Architect and Marine Engineer—fields which, in many other institutions, are treated as separate academic programs. This unique feature provides our graduates with the greatest possible flexibility in their professional careers. For this reason, students of the School approach the increased workload with understanding.
Each year, seventy to eighty students graduate, a particularly high number compared to most Schools of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering. Despite their large number, the graduates of the School enter a highly robust job market, which, to this day, shows no signs of difficulty in absorbing them.
Shipping is the only sector in which Greece has consistently ranked as a global leader for many years, providing the School’s graduates with opportunities for brilliant careers. Moreover, the diverse support needs of the shipping industry sustain an extensive network of businesses of all types, such as consulting firms, classification societies, shipyards, and ship repair companies, where a significant number of the School’s graduates are employed.
